Move Forward Expectantly

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 28:30-31)            Passage: Jeremiah 29:10-14

The Apostle Paul suffered many trials in his ministry for Christ. In 2 Corinthians 11:16-33, he describes a lot of those trials and how often he was near death. In the midst of all those things, Paul knew that God had a plan for his life and until that plan was complete, he would remain on earth. Luke describes the two years Paul was under house arrest in Rome and how Paul kept his focus on his purpose to spread the gospel, but he lived with an expectancy of what God was going to allow him to do.         The prelude to his confinement in Rome was a time in Jerusalem when Paul was nearly killed by a mob of Jews. The Roman commander in Jerusalem rescued Paul from being mobbed and put him in confinement. Acts 23:11 says, “The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, ‘Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.’” God has plans to use you for His glory. In 2025, value relationships, stay fresh spiritually, keep focused on God’s purposes and then look ahead with expectancy to see God work. In Christ, the best is always yet to be!
