   Passage: Romans 8:1-4

         Did you know that you can generate your own electricity by simply riding a bike? It’s true and you can find many kits that will help you transition an ordinary bike into an electricity producing machine. Once set up, you can generate about 200 watts of electricity per hour of riding. That sounds good until you find out that the average household in America uses about 30,000 watts of electricity per day. If you tried to generate enough electricity for your house, not only would you wear yourself out trying, but you would find that it is impossible for you to do on your own. The reality is that you need to plug into a power source beyond yourself that can generate enough power to run your home.
        It’s the same way with your spiritual life. God wants you to experience His best for your life and that best is found through living out His purposes. However, you can’t do that in your own power. No matter how hard you may try, it is simply impossible to do. That’s why Paul tells the Galatian believers and us to live by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the power source for living.  His supply of power will never diminish or run out. Living by the Spirit is the only way to live a powerful and purposeful life.
