Passage: Psalm 117:1-2
Mustangs are horses that are typically born in the wild. They are prized because of the qualities they have once they have been captured and tamed. They are known to be loving horses, who respond well to their owners. They are generally faster than domesticated horses and they are known for their resilience and ability to adapt to challenging environments. Taming wild horses is a picture of the 8th characteristic in the fruit of the Spirit. It is the characteristic of gentleness, which is also translated meekness.
Meekness/Gentleness is “a humble, gentle attitude that expresses itself patiently when offended, being free from anger and a desire for revenge.” In Greek and Roman culture was considered a character trait to be despised instead of desired and developed. However, to God, it is one of the greatest characteristics that any believer can reflect in his/her life. Jesus said in the Beatitudes, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5) As a believer, the gentleness of Christ is in you. Set your heart to let it be manifest from you.
