Gentleness is Secure in Christ

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him for that day.” (2 Timothy 1:11-12)
      Passage: John 6:25-40

Genesis 13 records the separation of Abraham and Lot, when Abraham displayed the character of gentleness when the conflict between Abraham’s herdsmen and Lot’s herdsmen became to bad that Abraham realized they needed to go separate ways. Though Abraham was the family patriarch and Lot was his nephew, Abraham let lot choose the direction he would take his flock and clan. Lot chose the direction that looked the most fertile, but it also was the region with Sodom and Gomorrah.
It seemed at first that Abraham was left with dry, barren land, but God spoke to him and let him know that was far from true. God promised Abraham that He would give him all the land he could see from the north, south, east and west. That is the land of Israel. Abraham trusted God and put his security in God’s love and provision for him and his family. The character of gentleness will be manifested more and more as you remember that you are secure in Christ and as you trust Him to take care of you.
