Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way.” (Matthew 21:35-36)
      Passage: 2 Peter 3:3-13

God delivered the Hebrew people out of Egyptian slavery and gave the Law to Moses around 1445 B.C. After all the miracles He did and the care He gave, the people still rebelled against Moses and began the pattern that would be carried on by God’s chosen people for thousands of years. That pattern was rebellion, followed by discipline, followed by repentance, followed by restoration and a period of renewal. The rebellion comes out of the sinful heart that has “I” at the center and is filled with self-centered pride that rejects the Sovereign rulership of Christ over ones’ life.

In spite of the rebellion, God was patient. Through the years, God’s patience was seen with Israel in His sending prophet after prophet to remind the people of God’s purposes for them and to call them to repent and return to Him so He could use them to reach the world. The patience of God is one of the amazing wonders of God. God is patient toward people, because He wants people to be saved and to be in His forever family. I thank God for His patience with me. Thank Him for His patience with you.
