Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Passage: Psalm 95:1-7
A little girl kept asking her mother questions until finally her tired and exasperated mom said, “Can I have some quiet time alone without you constantly asking me questions?” Her daughter replied, “Sure mom. Just not now.” All of us need some times to be alone for our own emotional health, but there are other time when being alone is hard and hurtful. It can be going to a new place where you don’t know anyone. It may be getting hard news and feeling there is no one who understands or gives support.
In a world where everyone can seemingly be connected to hundreds of people through social media, studies show that many people feel more alone than ever before. God has the answer for people. He created us for relationship, to love and be loved. The first and greatest relationship He wants for us is to be in a relationship with Him. Just before Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave His disciples a command to make disciples. It would be a challenging commitment for them, but He gave them one guarantee. They would never be alone and when you have a relationship with Jesus, neither will you.
