your Relationship is Permanent with Jesus

  Passage: John 10:22-30

My wife, Pam, and I are coming up on our 43rd wedding anniversary. One of our common statements to each other now, in addition to saying “I love you”, is “to the end”. We say it with a bit of humor, but we also say it as an affirmation of the wedding vow we made years ago when we declared, “till death do us part.” I love my wife, and she loves me. We will be with each other “to the end”, but when that day comes, one of us will be left alone. I’m grateful to know if I go first, we have two wonderful children who will be available to help her in any way, and I know there will be many friends who will do the same. Many have already experienced that separation and know the reality of it.
No relationship on earth is a permanent one. However, there is a relationship that is permanent. It is your relationship with Jesus. The promise He gave of His presence included the time-frame, “always, to the very end of the age.” The closest people to you are not by your side 24/7. Jesus is. They are not able to encourage you and strengthen you to face any situation 24/7. Jesus is. When you know Jesus, you have Him in your heart. You are never alone while you live. You will not be alone when you die. You will be in His presence for all eternity. You are never alone.
