Make Every Day Count
Pray – (1/2 minute)
Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun:The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of men, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. Anyone who is among the living has hope - even a live dog is better than a dead lion!” (Ecclesiastes 9:3-4)
Passage: Psalm 90:1-12
Life is a journey. It is not one you signed up for. You were born into it. King Solomon was given a gift of wisdom and he took it and spent most of his adult journey trying to find out if true meaning and satisfaction could be found without God. His discovery? It can’t. On this journey of life, God created you for a love relationship with Him and He wants you to be the best person He designed you to be. One day, this life will be over, so every day you live is an opportunity for you to live your best life and make a difference for Christ.
The Psalmist pointed out in Psalm 90:12 that we cannot count how many days we have on earth, but what we can do is live wise and seek to make our days count. You certainly have plans for the future, but ultimately, the only day you absolutely know you have is today. Opportunities are going to come your way. Interactions will take place with people. Many different things may come, but God has you in His hands and He wants to use you in special ways. Be wise and make today count for Him.
