FINDING MEANING IN LIFE

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.” (Ecclesiastes 11:9)
      Passage: Psalm 92:1-5

Life is a gift. When you opened your eyes this morning, you woke up blessed to have another day of opportunity to live the kind of life God designed for you to live. That life is one that has purpose and meaning. It makes a positive difference in the lives of other people.

King Solomon understood the gift of life. God had given him a capacity to learn and understand everything he wanted to know about life on earth, which he referred to as “under the sun”. Solomon took that gift of being wise and he lived much of his life as a fool. He went on a search for true meaning without thinking about God. He realized after all he did, that life without God is meaningless. As he came to the end of his teaching in Ecclesiastes, Solomon shared the way to live a meaningful life. It begins by being conscious that you will give account of yourself before God. This is the day God has given you. Live it to the fullest, with meaning and purpose. Live today for the Lord.
