Confess Christ when You are Young and Old

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, ‘I find no pleasure in them’ – ” (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
      Passage: Luke 22:7-32

When Solomon looked back on the way he took the gift of wisdom and then lived much of his life without putting God first, he acknowledged that he had lived poorly. In his closing words to share how to live a truly meaningful life all the way through, He admonished people to “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.” To remember is to set a mark in front of you that will help keep you reminded of a decision you have made in the past.
The best time for a person to put his/her faith in Jesus is the moment he realizes his need of salvation. That said, up to 86% of all people who claim to be Christians, profess their faith before the age of 14 and 96-98% do so before the age of 29. Though the sin nature has been “crucified with Christ”, it still has power while we are on earth and Solomon realized that many people will tend to stop growing in their faith as they deal with the cares of the world. Don’t let that happen to you. Whether you confessed Christ when you were a child or older adult, affirm your confession each day and keep your focus on Him.
