Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth . . . before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; when the keeps of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through he windows grow dim, . . . Remember Him – before the silver cored is severed. . . and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:1-8)
      Passage: 1 Corinthians 3:10-21

A boy whose elderly grandmother lived with the family had a friend over to play. The friend noticed the grandmother was reading her Bible the entire time. He asked her grandson, “Why does your grandmother read the Bible so much?” The boy replied, “I think she’s cramming for finals.” One reality of life is that, unless we have an illness or accident that brings death at an early age, all of us will grow old and eventually die. At that moment, it will be to late for those who have not received Christ to confess Him and for those who have received Him, the joys of heaven will come, but also we will give account for our lives.
The way to live a truly meaningful life is to confess Christ and then set your heart to live for Him each day. Our earthly bodies are not eternal, but our souls are. Now is the time to prepare for that day. Not by “cramming for finals”, but by living for Him and letting Him use us to touch lives for Jesus.
