Give Together for God's Work
Pray - (1/2 minute)
Read - (2 1/2 minutes) - "Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.” (Acts 2:43-45)
Passage: 2 Corinthians 8:7-9
When the Holy Spirit came to permanently dwell within the lives of believers on the Day of Pentecost, He gave spiritual gifts to every person that would empower them to serve and do the work of ministry together as the Body of Christ. He also gave them a love for Christ and His people that motivated them to be faithful stewards of the resources He had given them.
A love for Christ and His church is demonstrated in how you give of your time, your talents and your treasure. You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. Love gives and it follows God’s example perfectly expressed in John 3:16, “For God so LOVED the world, that He GAVE His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” God has gifted you with one or more spiritual gifts, and He has given you the resources you have. God will open doors of service, and He will use and bless what you give. Show your love by giving together with God people for God’s work and watch His Kingdom grow and your local church flourish.
