Relate to Others Like Jesus

Read - (2 1/2 minutes) - "Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.” (Titus 3:1-2)
Passage: 1 Peter 3:13-17
God wired us for relationships. In this world, we are not called to live isolated lives from relationships. We are called to live insulated lives through the Holy Spirit, who enables us to be good influences for Jesus. The Apostle Peter wrote to believers who were under the ruler-ship of the Roman Empire. He told them to relate to the government with respect and obedience to the laws of the land. He gave them attitudes to adopt of being peaceable, considerate and humble.
In a world where respect for authority in government, law enforcement and school often seems to be nonexistent, one way that believers stand out is through the way we relate to people in authority in the world and to each other within the body of Christ. Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, that you love one another.” I saw believers in Ukraine living out the difference Jesus makes as they relate to people in their community and seek to help people in need during the war. That kind of living is attractive to people who are hungry for authentic relationships which they don’t find in the world. Relate to others like Jesus and live the difference for Him.
